How do, my name is Phil and I am a web and graphic designer based in Liverpool, with a broad range of skills and techniques developed both in a professional and personal capacity. I have 5 years of experience in designing for print with a successful publishing company, so can design to print standards for banners, leaflets, and other related media.
I am based in the UK, and enjoy working with both local and national friends, and collaborate with other web and graphic designers often. I’m always on hand to give advice to others that need it, and sometimes when they don’t! I love designing websites, especially getting stuck in front-end developing.
There are two main areas to my design: graphic and web. For web design, I can design from scratch and also code front-end via XHTML, CSS and jQuery. I also love designing via WordPress, and through this, I have a good understanding of PHP and amateur development. My core programs for web designing are Photoshop for the designs, and Dreamweaver for the code, but can code by hand in most code editors.
Via my experience designing for print in a busy magazine environment, I am adept at designing to print standards, including advertisments, layouts, business cards and leaflets. I also have a keen interest in designing clothing and apparel. One area in graphic design I love is branding and designing logos and identities, as seen in my recent Gravitas Law branding exercise.
I am inspired largely by other designers who work to not only provide a unique service, but also to make the web itself a more beautiful place to see, including the likes of John O’Nolan, Andy Clarke and Jonno Riekwel. Away from teh interwebs, my two children provide a constant source of inspiration, sick-stained clothes and laughs!
My name is Philip Stringfellow, and I am a Merseyside based graphics/web designer, currently working as a freelance designer in the North-west of England area.
My favourite areas of design are abstract, web and design for print. I use Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver for my projects, and am a Windows user, though prefer Mac!
